Position Overview
As an integral part of our team, you will collaborate in managing and promoting the libraries of Nyon Léman and Nyon Cossy. Your role will encompass engaging with users and facilitating their access to library resources and services.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome users and provide general information about the library services, collections, consultation methods, and document lending.
- Introduce users to the handling of available devices and software.
- Process lending operations, monitor the condition of consulted and borrowed documents, locate, search, and return items to their proper place.
- Ensure the maintenance and proper organization of the documentary collection.
- Participate in enhancing the visibility of collections and services in the school section of the media library.
- Organize and oversee the signage of the documentary collection, label and package various documents, carry out minor repairs, and assist in cataloging, inventorying, and reclassifying materials.
- Update documentary file content and perform routine reproductions.
- Contribute to the preparation and organization of exhibitions, activities, visits, promotional reading events, and initiatives related to the involvement of the media library. Assist in the development of documentary products, including information research and physical document handling.
Special Conditions
Work hours are structured around school periods.
Qualifications
- Possession of a Federal Certificate of Proficiency (CFC) as an Information Document Agent (AID).
- A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a library, preferably in a school or youth library setting.
- Fluency in French, both spoken and written.
- Proficiency with new digital tools.
- A strong interest in working with children aged 4 to 12 and their teachers, as well as a passion for children's literature.
- Understanding of bibliographic techniques and standards.
- Familiarity with Alma and some experience in document management on Renouvaud.
- Skills for manual and creative activities.
- Able to work independently while maintaining collaboration and openness to innovation.
