Position Overview

Join a dynamic team dedicated to managing and promoting library services within the Nyon Léman and Nyon Cossy libraries. This role involves collaboration and engagement with users, enhancing their experience in accessing valuable resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Welcome users and provide general information about services, collections, consultation methods, and document lending.
  • Familiarize users with available devices and software.
  • Conduct lending operations, check the condition of consulted and loaned documents, and assist in locating, searching, and shelving documents.
  • Ensure the maintenance and proper equipping of the documentary collection.
  • Participate in showcasing collections and services related to the educational segment of the media library.
  • Organize and oversee the signage of the documentary collection, label and package various documents, and perform minor repairs.
  • Engage in cataloging, inventory, and reclassification tasks; update documentary folders and carry out routine reproductions.
  • Assist in the preparation and execution of exhibitions, events, and reading promotion activities, and contribute to the development of documentary products involving information research and physical document processing.

Unique Work Conditions

This position features a specific organization of working hours aligned with school schedules during school periods.

Qualifications

  • Completion of a CFC in Information Document Management (AID).
  • A minimum of 2 years of professional experience in a library, preferably within a school or youth library setting.
  • Fluency in French (both spoken and written).
  • Comfortable with new digital tools.
  • Strong interest in working with children aged 4 to 12 and their educators, alongside a passion for youth literature.
  • Knowledge of bibliographic techniques and standards.
  • Familiarity with Alma and experience in document management within Renouvaud.
  • Skills in manual and creative activities.
  • Able to work independently while demonstrating a collaborative spirit and openness to innovation.
